The RNI Health App is a comprehensive tool developed by the experts at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) and Innovation Center, a distinguished program affiliated with West Virginia University and WVU Medicine. RNI stands as a leading multidisciplinary institute committed to patient care, research, and education in West Virginia and the surrounding region.

This innovative app offers a holistic framework for facilitating communication between participants and patients engaged in various studies and programs addressing issues such as addiction, chronic pain, cognitive disorders, epilepsy, headaches, human performance, movement disorders, neuromodulation, neuro-oncology, spine health, stroke, among others.

The primary objective of the Health App is to foster connections with users participating in research studies aimed at uncovering the root causes of specific health conditions. These studies and protocols have received approval from WVU’s Institutional Review Board and compliance teams.

Key Features of the Health App:

 <li>Participants can record and share essential lifestyle factors such as sleep patterns, diet, physical activity levels, and stress management.</li>
 <li>Users can document and relay health-related information including mood fluctuations, symptoms experienced, body temperature, and responses to survey inquiries.</li>
 <li>The app provides notifications and reminders to encourage participants to complete any outstanding tasks.</li>
 <li>Participants can engage in cognitive tasks designed to further assess their health and well-being.</li>

Consent:
Participation in research studies or programs via the app is entirely voluntary. Users must review and consent to the terms and conditions established by the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) before enrollment. Consent is facilitated electronically, allowing users to sign and submit their agreement to participate. Participants may opt out of the study at any time by uninstalling the app and ceasing data sharing.

Data Usage:
The data collected through the app is shared with RNI for essential research analytics purposes.

Additional Services:
The app has the capability to utilize remote notifications and background processes to provide timely updates to users.
